Position: Medical Day Unit Nurse

Responsibilities

  • The Medical Day Unit is a busy Monday to Friday 11 spaced, planned clinic.
  • Patients attend at planned timed appointments for specific treatments to manage long term illnesses.
  • MDU is an increasingly growing nurse led clinic providing a service for all adult specilalty services, including biologic medicines ,dynamic blood testing/investiagtions with minor interventions.
  • Assess treat/discharge day case patients.
  • Take charge of clinical area.
  • Safely delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Recognise/respond to emergency situations.
  • Act as a role model/ mentor to junior staff/students.
  • Communicate efficiently and openly with colleagues, consultants, patients and family members.
  • Adhere to IPAC compliance escalting concerns appropriately.
