Renal Anaemia
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Renal CNS team as the CNS for Renal Anaemia.
This post requires excellent knowledge on the care and management of renal patients and will involve non medical prescribing.
The prevalence of renal anaemia in CKD is estimated at 16% of CKD patients, stages 3-5.
This is key clinical post which supports the health and well being of the patients of Cornwall.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for being an accountable lead practitioner in renal anaemia treatment and management.
The post holder will be able to take a relevant history and clinical assessment to develop a treatment plan and evaluate the progress of that plan, in conjunction with patients and carers.
The post holder will initiate and prescribe drug therapies within their sphere of competence, assess the effectiveness with monitoring and evaluation.
The post holder will be aware of knowledge and skills limitations.
The post holder will be based within the renal clinical nurse specialist team but may be required to support patient in other areas of the hospital.
The post holder will be a highly experienced nurse who uses specialist knowledge and skills to support and educate patients and their carers.
The post-holder will work under the supervision of the Renal Consultant Team.
The post holder will be expected to participate in service improvement, to include research and development and clinical audit.
The post holder will form the senior nursing leadership team, and therefore will form part of renal nurse management team. Participating in Employee relations, rostering, training and education and the appraisal process.
