We're looking for an experienced, compassionate and reliable Female Complex Care Support Worker to join our Care Expert Team in Mid & West Cornwall.
This is a full time, permanent role working across two parts of our children's service.
Most of your week will be spent as part of a dedicated 2:1 care team in the Tresillian, TR2 area, supporting a young person with complex care needs at home, in school and out in the community. Alongside this, you'll support other children and young people with complex or additional needs across Mid & West Cornwall.
Our children's services help children and young people feel safe, understood and cared for — at home and out in their community. That support means a great deal to the child or young person. It also gives families reassurance, consistency and peace of mind.
You'll need to be calm, patient and confident in care. You'll be attentive to body language and alternative communication, helping each young person feel safe, supported and understood.

You must have previous care experience, a full UK driving licence, access to a reliable car and the right to work in the UK. Applications without previous care experience will not be successful.

What you'll be doing- Supporting children and young people with complex health, communication and additional needs
- Working as part of a 2:1 team for our Tresillian customer, at home, in school and in the community
- Providing personal, practical and emotional support
- Helping with daily routines, mealtimes and personal care
- Supporting communication, confidence and independence
- Responding to body language and alternative communication
- Supporting with PEG feeding and suctioning, where required
- Attending community outings and social activities
- Promoting safety, wellbeing and independence
- Following care plans and keeping clear records
- Working closely with families, schools and the wider care team
- Being a calm, dependable and reassuring presence
Full specialist training will be provided, so you feel confident and supported in the care you deliver.
Hours and working patternThis is a full time, permanent contract of 37.5 hours per week.
The role covers days, evenings, weekends and some school hours, including support in school during term time. During school holidays and half terms, children and young people are often at home more, so the pattern of your hours will change. We'll always talk this through with you in advance and plan rotas around availability wherever possible.

For this role, you'll need:
- Previous care experience — this is essential. It may be in care, or in an education, health or support setting working with children or young people
- Confidence supporting with personal care
- A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable car
