Temporary Healthcare Desk
Truro, Cornwall | Full-time, permanent | Monday to Friday, no weekends
£27,000 basic salary + 10% - 40% commission and performance bonus
This role is for an experienced healthcare temp recruiter who wants to own a desk and grow it.
Saint Pauls Healthcare is a Cornwall-based home care provider and healthcare staffing agency. We supply nurses, healthcare assistants and support workers to care homes, supported living and mental health services across Cornwall.
The opportunityWe already have the clients, and they need more staff than we can currently supply. This desk is already profitable with very little active recruitment behind it. What we need now is an experienced consultant to find the candidates, fill the shifts, and take the desk to the next level.
You will have full ownership of the temporary staffing desk. You will bring the knowledge, the drive and the ideas, and we will give you the support and the freedom to build it your way.
What you'll do- Own and run the temporary healthcare staffing desk from day one
- Source, screen, interview and register nurses, healthcare assistants and support workers
- Fill shifts fast, including short-notice and same-day requests
- Build a strong local candidate pool in a tough market:
Cornwall is not an easy place to find care staff, so we need someone who knows how to get creative - Keep clients happy as their go-to staffing partner, and grow the desk with new clients
- Manage compliance, registration and onboarding
- Proven experience running a temporary staffing desk in a healthcare or social care recruitment agency
- Hands-on knowledge of healthcare compliance, including enhanced DBS checks, right to work, references, the Care Certificate and mandatory training
- A track record of billing and hitting fill-rate targets
- Experience sourcing candidates through Linked In, job boards, referrals and your own network
- The confidence to work independently, make decisions and take ownership
- £27,000 basic salary, plus commission and a performance bonus
- Clear progression from Consultant to Senior Consultant to Manager as the desk grows
- Monday to Friday, with no weekends
