We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Office Manager to lead and support our Truro team within Abacus. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of Administrators and Paraplanners, ensuring the delivery of an efficient, high-quality service that supports our Financial Planners and clients.
As part of the Saltus Group, Abacus specialises in supporting independent advisers through a highly resourced, collaborative model that allows them to focus on what matters most - providing outstanding advice and service to their clients. Our structure provides advisers with the tools, systems, compliance support, and back-office assistance they need to run efficient, successful practices without compromising their independence.
Operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you will play a key role in ensuring that advice support functions run efficiently, enabling Advisers to focus on delivering high-quality financial planning. By embedding best practices, optimising processes, and driving service excellence, you will help maintain the highest standards in client service while ensuring seamless operational support.

The Office Manager is responsible for:- Lead, support and develop a team of Administrators and Paraplanners, creating a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Hold regular one-to-one meetings and development conversations, providing coaching, feedback and support to help team members succeed.
- Manage team workloads and resources to ensure Advisers receive timely and effective support.
- Monitor team performance, quality and service standards, addressing any issues and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Manage team capacity, through resource planning and workflow allocation to ensure service levels and business objectives are achieved.
- Take ownership of recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development of team members, working closely with the Branch Manager and People team where required.
- Ensure new starters receive a structured and welcoming induction, helping them settle quickly into their role and the wider business.
- Act as the main point of contact for day-to-day team queries, issues and escalations, providing guidance and resolving challenges where needed.
- Work closely with Advisers, the Branch Manager and other stakeholders to understand priorities, manage capacity and ensure work is delivered effectively.
- Oversee the delivery of administration and paraplanning services, ensuring a high standard of support for both Advisers and clients.
- Ensure client work is completed accurately, efficiently and in line with regulatory and company requirements.
- Look for ways to improve processes, systems and ways of working, helping the team work smarter and deliver a consistently high level of service.
