Nursing Associate – Band 4

Contract:

Permanent, 37.5 hours per week (full time or part time considered).

Salary: £28,392 – £31,157 pa pro rata.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kerensa Ward, a 25‑bed elderly care ward specialising in dementia and complex needs. We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and patient‑focused Nursing Associate to join our multidisciplinary team, delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care to older adults living with dementia.

• Deliver safe, effective and compassionate nursing care to patients with dementia and complex elderly care needs.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care using a person‑centred approach.
• Support patients with behaviours that challenge, ensuring care is delivered with dignity and respect.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team including therapists, doctors and support staff.
• Promote a therapeutic environment suitable for individuals living with dementia.
• Provide support and guidance to healthcare assistants and junior staff.
• Involve families and carers in care planning and decision‑making.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the ward.

• Professional registration and qualification checks.
• Employment history and reference checks.
• Occupational health clearance.
• Satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.

• Qualified Band 4 or due to qualify in 6 months on the NMC register as a Nursing Associate.
• Working currently at Band 4 level.

• Motivated, compassionate, willingness to learn, team player.
• Has led on self‑initiated patient‑related quality projects.

• Can lead a supported bay.
