Nursing Associate – Band 4
Contract:
Permanent, 37.5 hours per week (full time or part time considered).
Salary: £28,392 – £31,157 pa pro rata.
Job overviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kerensa Ward, a 25‑bed elderly care ward specialising in dementia and complex needs. We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and patient‑focused Nursing Associate to join our multidisciplinary team, delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care to older adults living with dementia.
Main duties of the job- Deliver safe, effective and compassionate nursing care to patients with dementia and complex elderly care needs.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care using a person‑centred approach.
- Support patients with behaviours that challenge, ensuring care is delivered with dignity and respect.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team including therapists, doctors and support staff.
- Promote a therapeutic environment suitable for individuals living with dementia.
- Provide support and guidance to healthcare assistants and junior staff.
- Involve families and carers in care planning and decision‑making.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the ward.
- Identity checks.
- Professional registration and qualification checks.
- Employment history and reference checks.
- Occupational health clearance.
- Satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.
- Qualified Band 4 or due to qualify in 6 months on the NMC register as a Nursing Associate.
- Working currently at Band 4 level.
- Motivated, compassionate, willingness to learn, team player.
- Has led on self‑initiated patient‑related quality projects.
- Can lead a supported bay.
- Optional pension and life assurance.
- Dedicated Childcare Coordination Team.
