Advance geospatial data science at McGill University through spatial analysis and urban systems research in a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment.
The Geography Department seeks a scholar combining methodological expertise with substantive research on cities and urban systems. You will teach geospatial data science, Geographic Information Systems, spatial analysis, and spatial statistics. The appointment supports undergraduate and graduate training, including McGill’s new BSc major and Urban Studies program.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct methodological research in geospatial data science
- Address real-world challenges affecting cities and urban systems
- Teach undergraduate and graduate geospatial data science courses
- Support the BSc major and Urban Studies program
- Develop new courses aligned with your expertise
- PhD in Geography or closely related discipline by appointment
- Expertise in geospatial data science and spatial analysis
- Research focus involving cities and urban systems
- Ability to teach GIS, spatial analysis, and spatial statistics
- English communication skills in writing and verbally
