Position: Therapeutic Assistant for Mental Health Services
Support therapeutic services as a Therapeutic Assistant in the Adult Neurodevelopmental Stabilization Unit at Nova Scotia Hospital. This long-assignment role emphasizes collaboration and patient care enhancement.

You will report to the Registered Nurse and work under a Recreation Therapist to provide vital health promotion and therapeutic services. Your ability to communicate patient-specific information effectively will enhance care planning with the interdisciplinary team. Strong leadership and knowledge of community resources are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide therapeutic support for patients

• Work collaboratively with care teams

• Enhance patient communication strategies

• Facilitate health promotion opportunities

• Assist in carrying out individual care plans

Requirements:

• Grade 12 plus first year in a Therapeutic Recreation program

• Must have current CPR certification

• Preferred:
St. John Ambulance First Aid certification

• Desirable:
Non Violent Crisis Intervention training

• Strong leadership and community resource knowledge
