Senior Project Manager at Gray Mar Environmental Services, LLC

Base pay range: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year.

Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager (PM) reports directly to the General Manager. This role is responsible for supporting overall performance at the assigned branch or office location to ensure operations are conducted safely, compliantly, and efficiently in line with Gray Mar’s objectives, policies and procedures. The PM will provide support and oversight of assigned projects, including day‑to‑day activities, personnel management, and scope of work, to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members and model Gray Mar values.
  • Ensure employees are prepared and educated on safe work practices.
  • Develop, coach, and train employees; provide ongoing feedback and motivation.
  • Manage projects with workflows in environmental remediation, industrial services, emergency response, and transportation and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Lead day‑to‑day activities of assigned projects, including quality control, project schedule, and scope changes.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently; oversee complex multi‑phase projects.
  • Field supervision of employees, providing direction, safety protocols, scope of work and best practices.
  • Perform field safety audits and report findings to branch management and Health & Safety.
  • Complete and support required project documentation and employee timesheets with accuracy and in required time frames.
  • Support General Manager and Operations Manager with supervision; lead, motivate, and support a large team of supervisors, drivers and technicians to drive retention and staffing adequacy.
  • Support and perform general maintenance, repairs and inventory tasks as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies 24/7 including holidays, nights and weekends.
  • Travel for emergency responses and scheduled work.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in HAZWOPER and Environmental industry specific to environmental remediation, industrial services, emergency response and hazardous materials transportation & disposal.
  • Excellent leadership and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to oversee assigned projects and delegate responsibilities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient completion.
  • Attention to detail and strong time‑management and organizational skills.
Education and Experience
  • A.S./A.A. degree or equivalent training.
  • Certifications in HAZWOPER/Environmental industry.
  • 7+ years as a HAZWOPER/Environment supervisor; or 5+ years of HAZWOPER/Environmental experience with 2+ years of supervisory experience in a comparable industry.
  • 8+ years of driving experience with a current and clean driving record.
  • 3+ years of experience with computer applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Acrobat, and Excel.
