The Payroll Clerk is responsible for assisting the Payroll Department for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations and in compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- A working knowledge of payroll fundamentals and principles at a level normally acquired through two years’ experience in payroll.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding payroll.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge in the use of Adobe PDF and advanced knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
- Must maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Experience with certified payroll.
- Determines time worked from time sheets and verifies proper authorizations.
- Calculates and reviews the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy.
- Maintains payroll database and employee files, which relate to payroll issues.
- Audits the verification and reconciliation process by ensuring overtime hours and wage calculations are paid in accordance with company policy and/or current labor agreement, and that timecards are accurately reported.
- Assists employees with questions about payroll and other payroll-related issues. Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
- Assists in preparing control documents for use in reconciling payroll transactions.
- Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Wage range: $23 - $27 hourly.

- Background check, credit check, MVR, and drug screen may be required (will vary by position).
