Process Engineer

As a Process Engineer at Lam, you will operate on cutting-edge technology, harnessing atomic precision, material science, and surface engineering to push technical boundaries. Your role involves developing new and advanced process formulations, defining equipment hardware to meet processing requirements, evaluating test data, and coordinating design requirements to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Your expertise and knowledge play a crucial role in our customers' success, making an impact on the next generation of semiconductor breakthroughs.

In this role, you will directly contribute to the Deposition Products Group.

Be a part of the exciting Sabre 3D process and technology team. Our mission is to advance and innovate WFE (wafer fab equipment) electrode position process and technology in the field of advanced wafer-level packaging. This process engineer position entails working in the areas of process, equipment systems, and technology.

• Perform professional process engineering research, development, and evaluation in support of the Sabre 3D and related systems.
• Involvement may begin at any step from the conception phase to supporting and making improvements to released processes and products.
• Conceive and plan projects involving the definition and selection of new concepts and approaches in the development of new or modified processes, reactor design, and system functionalities.
• Engage with the engineering and technical staff community.
• Design and execute experiments and tests.
• Compile and evaluate data to develop working models and specifications.
• Formulate, optimize, and determine appropriate variables, targets, and limits of process and equipment specifications.
• Support process and product performance demonstration activities such as planning, development, data collection, analysis, and technical reports.
• Provide leadership by acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or related field with 8+ years of related work experience; or a Master’s with 6+ years experience; or a PhD with 3+ years experience; or equivalent experience.

• Hands-on experience working with wet chemistry.
• Skilled in electrochemistry.
• Knowledgeable in fluid mechanics, transport, surface science, and analytical techniques.
• Interest in advanced technology and a continuous desire to learn.
• Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities to meet business needs and deadlines.
• Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, and both internal and external partners, with a collaborative mindset suited for a matrix environment.
• Experienced in working with processing or SEMI equipment.
