The Impact You’ll MakeAs a Product Manager at Lam, you play a crucial role in defining the strategy, roadmap, and features of the product. You will need to be both strategic and tactical. You will oversee the entire product life cycle, from definition and planning to production release, upgrades, and end-of-life. Your leadership will be crucial for cross-functional collaboration and the success of our product portfolio.
With your expertise in both business and technical domains, you’ll bring the product vision to life for Lam and our customers.
Manages a group of products from product definition and planning through development, ramp, sustaining, and end of life. Serves as the central resource for other Lam organizations, including engineering, technology, manufacturing, supply chain, and marketing. Leads and aligns the business unit on priorities, objectives, and decisions to meet product requirements.
The Product Manager is responsible for managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing New Product Development, Roadmaps, and CIP:
- Author vision statements, document business objectives, and product requirements.
- Define the product offering within the Product Option Architecture (POA) and manage associated change processes. Communicate product offerings and list pricing to internal organizations.
- Drive strategies to minimize configurability, maximize commonality, and implement new CIP.
- Ensure the product meets performance targets, is available in manufacturing with predictable lead-time and cost, and is supportable in the field.
Product Change, Quality, and Profitability Management:
- Ensure that products and CIP meet performance targets, are available in manufacturing with predictable lead-time and cost, and are supportable in the field with documentation, training, and materials.
- Define implementation strategies for product enhancements, improvements, and fixes, and communicate these to stakeholders.
- Manage unreleased products and features; communicate early forecast plans with all stakeholders and manage/coordinate financial approvals.
- Work with Sales Operations to ensure proper tool configurations and communicate build plans within the business unit to ensure alignment for CIP.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Technical Degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or 6 years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated management or leadership experience is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have sound judgment and decision-making capability. They should also demonstrate the capacity to provide structure and guidance and work effectively across multiple organizations and levels of management. This person must possess a blend of business and technical savvy, big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. The product manager must have the confidence to lead a team of highly technical and competent individuals.
