Metrology Technician
The Metrology Technician plays a key role in supporting process technology teams by running metrology processes, measuring wafers accurately, and ensuring high-quality data collection for subsequent manufacturing steps. This position works on the Back End night shift, from Thursday to Saturday and alternating Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and requires strong attention to detail, adherence to standard operating procedures, and effective communication with shift leadership and engineering staff.
Responsibilities
- Run metrology processes to support process technology teams, ensuring accurate and reliable wafer measurements.
- Select and apply the correct metrology recipes to measure wafers appropriately using designated metrology tools.
- Load wafers according to instructions provided by process engineers or technicians and operate metrology equipment safely and efficiently.
- Provide measurement results to Process Technicians promptly after the metrology process is complete.
- Collect and organize data using SharePoint and prepare clear pass-down reports for the next shift and Process Engineers to support subsequent process steps.
- Interact regularly with the shift supervisor to communicate estimated tool release times, shift operations status, abnormal events, and development activities.
- Document all work thoroughly and follow established standard operating procedures at all times.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and detail in all measurements and documentation.
- Work collaboratively within the Metrology team to provide coverage for metrology tasks across the entire lab.
- Track and report daily activities through verbal and written pass-down to ensure continuity between shifts.
Essential Skills
- Clean room experience and ability to work effectively in a controlled laboratory environment.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate measurements and thorough documentation, verified through references.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures consistently and precisely.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to support clear pass-downs and interaction with supervisors, engineers, and technicians.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience or coursework in engineering or technical disciplines that supports understanding of semiconductor processes.
- Familiarity with data collection and reporting tools, including SharePoint, for organizing and passing down process information.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on night shifts while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Interest in long-term career growth within a metrology or semiconductor manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
This role is based in a clean room and laboratory environment as part of a dedicated Metrology team that provides coverage for metrology tasks across the entire lab. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
