Job Description

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet, engage, and assist customers visibly and actively.
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
- Adhere to company policies on cash shortages and overages, and control loss effectively.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
- Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Practice safety by complying with procedures, identifying hazards, and reporting issues.
- Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
- Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product questions.
- Comply with all laws and company guidelines.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts in a professional manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Customer service experience
- Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
