Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist I/II / Advanced Occupational Therapist I/II position serves to provide quality occupational therapy services to a predominantly Native American population for the rehabilitation of patients with various developmental, cognitive and/or mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing and interpreting evaluation(s) and test results for patients ranging in age from birth through geriatric;
- Determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription and setting realistic treatment goals;
- Documenting in electronic health records (EHR); evaluating results of occupational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient progress;
- Recommending and implementing adjustments and modification to therapy plan; promoting maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to the patient’s goals and needs;
- Maintaining the operation and organization of the Occupational Therapy program for outpatients and inpatients;
- Providing specialty services, including but not limited to custom orthoses, sensory integration, cognitive treatment, activities of daily living;
- Providing specialty clinics such as Spinal Cord clinic, Functional clinic, Geriatric clinic, Assistive Technology/Adaptive equipment evaluation/treatment, Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetic Orthotic Supply Program;
- Assisting with direction and development of the occupational therapy service to include continued quality improvement, risk management and safety;
- Consulting with rehabilitation team and other health care workers;
- Maintaining Medical Staff Credentialing Core Privileges.
Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
Licensure (Occupational Therapist I/II & Advanced Occupational Therapist I/II)- Applicant must possess a valid, current, full and unrestricted license from the American Occupational Therapy Association and Arizona Department of Health Licensure or in any state within the United States, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or eligible for licensure in Occupational Therapy in State of Arizona.
- Must have and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
Applicant must meet requirements to be credentialed to serve on the Medical Staff. All related information required for credentialing must be provided.
Experience Occupational Therapist I- N/A
- A minimum of one (2) year experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist
- A minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist
- AOTA Board Certification Specialist as a licensed Occupational Therapist
