Navajo Preference Employment Act
In accordance with Navajo Nation and federal law, TCRHCC has implemented an Affirmative Action Plan pursuant to the Navajo Preference in Employment Act. OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY
This position serves as a Family Nurse Practitioner that performs comprehensive diagnostic, primary health care services, physical examinations (i.e. sports physicals, employment physicals, school physicals for entrance, uranium screenings) to patients by providing a full range assessment of needs. Maintains collaboration with Director of Outpatient department, manages medical needs of patients and provides care according to treatment plan. Responsibilities also include providing continuity of care between visits according to treatment plans for patients.
This position is a grant funded position.
Education:
Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice
Licensure/Certification:
- A valid, current, full, and unrestricted license to practice as a nurse practitioner in any state within the United States, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
- Certificate from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners
Credentialing:
Must meet additional requirements for credentialing and privileging for membership to the Medical Staff
Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience as a nurse practitioner evaluating and treating patients
- Basic computer skills used in performance of their duties are essential

- Successful completion of fingerprint clearance requirements, physical examinations, and other screenings indicating that the applicant is qualified to be employed by TCRHCC and demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
- Submission of all required employment-related documents, applications, resumes, references, and other required information free of false, misleading, or incomplete information, as determined by TCRHCC.

PhysicalMust be able to walk several hundred yards quickly, write well, hear well for cardiac examinations and see well for complete diagnostic skills. Work requires long periods of regular and recurring seating, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, maintaining balance, reaching and bending. Using appropriate body mechanics and proper lifting techniques is required as assistance may be needed to take items off mobile medical unit daily if schedule to be on the mobile medical unit.
