Navajo Preference Employment Act
In accordance with Navajo Nation and federal law, TCRHCC has implemented an Affirmative Action Plan pursuant to the Navajo Preference in Employment Act. Pursuant to this Plan and corresponding TCRHCC Policy, applicants who meet the necessary qualifications for this position and (1) are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation, Hopi Tribe, or San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe will be given preference in hiring and employment for this position, (2) are legally married to enrolled members of the Navajo Nation, Hopi Tribe, or San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe and meet residency requirements will be given secondary preference, and (3) are enrolled members of other federally-recognized American Indian Tribes will be given tertiary preference.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will provide management of the Purchased Referred Care (PRC) program/department to ensure strategic goals and objectives are met. Provide clinical guidance and train non-clinical staff with PRC workflow in coordination with clinical nurses, physicians and financial staff to ensure successful purchase referred care operations. Establish community and payer relationships, whilst adhering to compliance, maintaining payment and financial analysis to ensure effective department functions.
This position will have clinical oversight responsibilities and is key to the success of this position is an emphasis on communication, workload allocation, process improvement, training, and delegation.
Education: Bachelors’ degree in Nursing
License/
Certifications:
- A valid, current, full and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing in any state of the United States, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- Must have and maintain current valid certification of the following throughout employment:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) must be completed within 6 months of hire
Experience:
- At least two years of acute care nursing experience
- Must have three (3) years of progressive management responsibilities such as a Charge Nurse, Lead Nurse and/or Nurse Manager
- One year of supervisory experience

- Skilled with budget development and budget management
- Proficient with the Microsoft Suite applications – Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access
- Strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid analytical, creative and problem-solving abilities; ability to assist, direct and coordinate others
- Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner with a high-level of accuracy, attention to detail and timely follow-through
- Successful completion of and positive results from all background and reference checks, including positive employment references from authorized representatives of past and current employers demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC a record of satisfactory performance and that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
- Successful completion of fingerprint clearance requirements, physical examinations, and other screenings indicating that the applicant is qualified to be employed by TCRHCC and demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
