Position Summary

This position serves as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation, providing comprehensive diagnostic, primary health care services for patients of all ages. Responsibilities include assisting in infectious disease testing and immunization activities, operating under the clinical supervision structure of the Medical Services Division, and providing continuity of care between visits according to treatment plans.

Qualifications
  • Education Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or Master’s degree in physician assistant studies.
  • Licensure/Certification Must possess a valid, current, full, and unrestricted license to practice as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in any U.S. state, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the National Commission for Credentialed Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required. Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Experience Completed clinical rotations in evaluating and treating patients as part of training. Basic computer skills or prior experience with an electronic health record system is required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive diagnostic, preventative, and therapeutic health care services to patients.
  • Provide case management for patients with infectious diseases to ensure optimal outcomes and support telehealth and in‑person care.
  • Assist with infectious disease testing and immunization activities as a credentialed member of the medical staff.
  • Conduct telehealth visits regarding infectious disease diagnosis, isolation guidance, and medication support.
  • Document all visits and services in the electronic health record.
  • Serve as provider for vaccination clinics and same‑day appointment clinics.
  • Interview, assess, and evaluate patients; order appropriate diagnostic studies.
  • Perform basic physical assessments using observation, inspection, auscultation, percussion, palpation, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems.
  • Consult and collaborate with other health care professionals to establish health care plans and review patient progress.
