The Department of Orthopaedics at the Emory University School of Medicine is seeking an additional Internal Medicine physician to join our expanding program in the Medical Optimization Clinic. Our mission is to partner with a multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate, comprehensive, evidence-based medical optimization and preoperative assessment for patients undergoing surgery at Emory University Orthopaedics and Spine Hospital.
The physician will function independently but also collaborate closely with providers from other departments to coordinate medical optimization of patients prior to surgery. Faculty members are expected to participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development, and scholarship as directed by the department. Expected rank is Assistant Professor or higher, with final rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Description- The Physician will attend to the needs of all patients within the scope of licensing, training, and credentialing.
- Attend to the medical needs of all patients by performing patient care activities to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a Physician and assist in generating adequate practice volume.
- The Physician will participate in on-call duties and actively participate in meetings and committees.
- Practice medicine within the current scope of national patient safety goals.
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree.
- Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Georgia.
- Board eligible or board certified preferred; valid DEA certificate without restriction.
- Experience in outpatient medical practice preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; must be computer literate.
