The Manager, Energy Accounting, provides first‑line leadership and oversight for the Energy Accounting team, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient execution of energy accounting functions. Responsibilities include supervising and developing professional staff, managing complex data processing and reporting activities, and maintaining compliance with market rules and tariff requirements.

• Supervise, train, and develop a skilled professional staff.
• Guide the execution of complex data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with market rules, tariff requirements, and settlement rules.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to address operational and billing data needs.
• Drive organizational change initiatives and promote teamwork.

• 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting or energy‑related financial operations, including leadership or supervisory experience.
• Advanced data manipulation and analysis skills.
• Experience with analytical tools such as AI platforms, Microsoft Power Platform, SQL Server databases, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and delegation skills.
• Ability to interpret contractual agreements, policies, and procedures.

• Familiarity with wholesale market billing processes, including ancillary services such as scheduling, dispatch services, backup capacity, spinning reserves, and supplemental reserve.
• Knowledge of tariff requirements and energy settlement rules.
• Experience managing large datasets (hourly and daily energy data) and responding to operational and billing data requests from members and industry partners.

• Proficiency in developing software programs or scripts (e.g., Excel VBA, Power BI) to process transactional data and generate reports or billing outputs.
• Strong understanding of application development and testing methodologies.
• Advanced computer skills for data analysis, reporting, and communication.

• Proven ability to supervise, train, and develop a collaborative team environment.
• Experience delegating tasks to ensure efficient execution of data processing and reporting activities.
• Track record of leading organizational change initiatives and promoting accountability.

• Ability to communicate technical material clearly to internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
• Skill in presenting complex data and concepts for decision‑making and collaboration.

• Strong aptitude for analyzing transactional data to ensure accuracy and consistency in energy accounting and settlement processes.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues related to data processing, billing, and compliance in a timely manner.
