PRN rate $60.50 hourly plus shift differential.
Job DescriptionProvides comprehensive evaluations and testing, occupational therapy treatments, and education to seriously ill patients or those with complex medical problems and their families, consistent with individualized needs in an interdisciplinary environment. Assists in supervising support staff and students, develops in‑service training programs, maintains inventory and equipment, participates in quality assurance, provides guidance and instruction, communicates with care team, family, and patient, assists staff with complex patient assessments, performs peer reviews, trains patient and family, offers increased patient knowledge and skills, plans, develops and implements a results‑oriented treatment plan with clear measurable goals, modifies plan based on patient response, provides direct patient care with specialized treatments, collaborates with team and community resources for discharge planning, recommends and procures equipment, formulates professional development plan, attends educational in‑services, participates in professional activities and organizations, documents patient program, accurately records daily service charges, follows sterile technique and infection control, provides consultation to staff and physicians, conducts in‑service programs for staff, and serves as clinical instructor to students.
Also supports research activities and participates in committees related to patient care.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an American Occupational Therapy Association accredited program.
- Current licensure in the state of Georgia from the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Must have and maintain NBCOT certification.
- One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
Medium‑Heavy: 36‑75 lbs (0‑33 % of workday occasionally); 20‑35 lbs (34‑66 % frequently); 10‑20 lbs (67‑100 % constantly). Lifting up to 75 lbs max, carrying up to 35 lbs. Occasional to frequent standing, walking, sitting, close eye work. Physical demands vary by work area.
Environmental FactorsEnvironmental exposures may include blood‑borne pathogens, bio‑hazardous waste, chemicals, gases, fumes, vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care injuries, radiation, shift work, travel. Use of personal protective equipment such as respirators may be required.
