Senior Counsel

Oglethorpe Power Corporation is seeking a Senior Counsel who will engage in general corporate work, focusing on complex procurement and construction agreements, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and plant operations.

• Structure, draft, negotiate, and interpret complicated procurement and/or construction agreements.
• Provide counsel on corporate structure, authority, policy, and governance matters.
• Support and manage outside counsel advising the corporation on specialized regulatory compliance matters and litigation.
• Advise on a range of legal matters related to plant operations, including dispute resolution.
• Help to establish and maintain legal templates and processes, while negotiating vendor requests for deviations from standard templates.

• Education:
  
  College degree and Juris Doctor (J.D.).
• Experience:
  
  4+ years of practice with at least 3 years in a medium to large law firm setting.
• Licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia.
• Strong strategic thinking and sound legal and business judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal and external counsel.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and excellence.
• Experience drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Shows ability to deliver business‑oriented, practical solutions and work well under pressure.

Travel: 5%. Salary: $160,000 – $200,000 per year.
