Acara Solutions is looking for an Accountant to work for one of our clients in Tucson, AZ. This is a contract position possible, contract to hire.

Hourly rate: $50

Description of Duties
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules in JAMIS; provide monthly detail to the Controller for General Journal entries; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
  • Maintain employee payroll files and update JAMIS
  • Prepare and submit bi‑weekly payroll and supporting journal transactions.
  • Prepare and post 401K and HSA contributions deducted from payroll.
  • Maintain PTO accruals and reconciliations.
  • Prepare milestone invoices.
  • Maintain cash workbook and post deposits
  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
  • Prepare Bank Reconciliations
  • Prepare mailings and priority shipments for the Finance/Accounting Department.
  • Prepare correspondence as needed within the department.
  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable.
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative duties as may be required from time to time – quite often on short notice – by the CFO or Controller.
Required Skills / Qualifications
  • Knowledge of general ledgers
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of and experience in government contract accounting a plus
  • Knowledge of mathematical calculations and bookkeeping procedures
  • Skill in performing detailed numerical computations
  • Skill in preparing detailed reports on a timely basis
  • Skill in the use of computer hardware and software, specifically Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
