Site Superintendent – Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC)
We are seeking a qualified Site Superintendent to oversee construction projects at Davis‑Monthan AFB, AZ, and subsequent sites across the United States. The role involves daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of construction projects while meeting quality, health/safety, and cost objectives. Travel will be required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution
- Ensure on‑time, within‑scope, and within‑budget delivery of all projects
- Develop project scopes and objectives, engaging stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Use verification techniques to manage changes in scope, schedule, and cost
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques
- Report and escapees to management as needed
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships
- Perform risk management and quality control to minimize project risks
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and plans
- Attend, facilitate, and coordinate all required meetings and progress updates
- Enforce vendor and subcontractor contracts within the project context
- Provide onsite project oversight and leadership of quality control, safety, and risk mitigation
- Develop detailed CSI‑based cost estimates as needed
- Develop, review, and update construction schedules, submittals, subcontractor management, procurement, equipment/material deliveries, RFI process, project close‑out documentation, and bid take‑off
- Monitor and manage quality control, safety, and efficiency for construction operations
- Document and monitor changes in construction procedures with construction operations management
- Review drawings to address construction issues and ensure proper planning
- Estimate self‑performed/subcontractor work, pricing labor, equipment, and material costs
- Incorporate historical data from purchase orders, bid tabulations, subcontracts, productivity analysis, job cost systems, etc. into unit cost, man‑hour, and crew production figures
- Prepare lists of bid items and quantities, determine scopes of work, and recommend vendors and subcontractors
- Interface with owners, internal design/build teams, and subcontractors to provide feedback and cost data regarding feasibility
- Perform or coordinate detailed quantity takeoffs, assemble direct cost estimates, and analyze alternate construction methods to improve cost effectiveness
- Review design options and recommend best solutions based on cost‑effectiveness, value engineering, or material availability
- Track awarded contracts through cost reports and discussions with project and construction management
- Estimate extra work items and change orders, and review contracts for accuracy and completeness
- Meet qualifications for the Superintendent position in Specification Section 01 30 00 and approved by the government for the role
- Minimum 10 years of construction industry experience, with at least 5 years on federal government projects of comparable size and complexity
- Minimum 2 years of field Superintendent experience on DoD or commercial fuel systems
- Experience with OSHA, EM 385‑1‑1, and other regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Experience developing CSI‑based cost estimates
- Experience directing, training, and motivating field personnel
- Strong background in business, construction management, and delivery methodologies
- Must obtain GSA and military base passes and operate motor vehicles on military installations
- Understanding of federal construction requirements and the ability to adhere and manage them
- Experience managing federal government construction projects is required
- OSHA 30 certification
- USACE CQM certification
- Ability to obtain other construction related certifications as required by contract
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow directions and take instructions appropriately
