This position does not offer remote work capabilities and requires physical presence at our office location.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Check patients in and out for their dental appointments efficiently.
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate follow-up visits.
- Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain patient files and update records in the dental practice management software.
- Collect payments, issue receipts, and handle billing queries.
- Submit dental insurance claims and verify insurance coverage with providers.
- Ensure the reception area is organized and presents a welcoming environment.
- Coordinate with dental staff to manage daily operation flows.
- Assist in the preparation and management of dental office events and newsletters.
- Adhere to all regulatory, office, and health compliance guidelines.
- Practice confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance with applicable laws and the standards of the clinic.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to stay updated on the latest policies and procedures in dental practice management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or certification in administrative services preferred.
- Proven experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar role in healthcare settings.
- Strong understanding of dental office procedures and terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain organized in a busy environment.
- Competent in using office management software, with a strong capability to learn new data systems.
- Knowledge of dental insurance processes and claims management.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a patient-oriented approach.
- Detail-oriented and efficient in administrative tasks.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, as the job primarily involves front desk activities.
