Drafting Intern - Summer

Bowman has an opportunity for a Drafting Intern to join our team in Tucson, AZ in summer 2027.

This role supports project teams with basic technical tasks, data collection, and documentation while gaining hands‑on experience in applying CAD/Design principles and contributing to project delivery.

• Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes.

• Interact with multiple departments and peers within the organization and participate in intern program learning and development opportunities.

• Draft plans/mark‑ups for the purpose of creating construction documents.
• Obtain work assignments of either specific design elements or CAD drafting duties from project manager with allocated budgets.
• Perform non‑routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions under minimum supervision.
• Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting for review.
• Revise plans according to client, manager, or reviewer comments.
• Assist in organizing, creating, and maintaining all CAD or CAD related files for clients, town, or county intake.
• Delegate responsibilities for submitting plans on time.

• High School Diploma,GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
• Enrolled in community college courses, a college degree program, or formal continuing education program.
• Focus on land development, surveying, right‑of‑way or related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid state driver’s license and successfully pass a motor vehicle check.
