Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice, Microbiology
The School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Arizona invites candidates to apply for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in Microbiology.
This is a 9-month, year-to-year, full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment (non-tenure-eligible). The position will involve 90% teaching and 10% service.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate:
- Excellence in teaching.
- Passion for innovation beyond the traditional classroom.
- Commitment to service work required of all faculty.
This position will be responsible for teaching 18 credits per academic year, such as:
- MIC 420/520 Pathogenic Bacteriology.
- MIC 433/533 Medical and Molecular Virology.
Instruction will involve online and in-person instruction.
Minimum Qualifications- PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or related field.
- Prior experience in teaching online university-level courses in biology, microbiology, and/or virology.
- Prior experience in teaching upper-level university courses in bacterial pathogens and microbial techniques.
- Prior experience using student-centered learning techniques.
