Responsibilities

Student & Academic Affairs (OSAA), this role oversees the admissions and onboarding process for entry-level BSN and MSN academic programs in the college. A big part of this role is supporting entry-level students before, during and after the admissions process – from initial inquiry through matriculation in the college’s degree programs. Under the guidance of the Director of Student Affairs, the Admissions Advisor is responsible for facilitating a smooth transition from prospective applicant to fully onboarded student.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Build, update, and manage applications in Grad App and Nursing

    CAS.
  • Evaluate applications and transcripts to ensure applicants meet minimum eligibility requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate interviews and entrance exams for entry‑level program applicants.
  • Generate reports using a variety of tools to support admissions decisions.
  • Coordinate and continually improve the student onboarding process in collaboration with faculty and advisors.
  • Serve as staff representative on admission task forces.
  • Develop system/process resources and training guides for faculty admission committees.
Recruitment
  • Respond to student inquiries professionally and promptly via email, phone, webinar, or in‑person.
  • Counsel students on appropriate pathways to a nursing career.
  • Advise students who did not receive an admissions offer on alternative options.
  • Interact with diverse constituencies in a professional manner.
  • Provide walk‑in support and maintain a service‑oriented presence.
Working With College Committees And Faculty
  • Facilitate clear communication and promote positive working relationships with OSAA, college faculty, university units, and external partners.
  • Collaborate with faculty on onboarding processes and admissions‑related matters.
  • Participate in college‑level committees and task forces related to admissions and student success.
Maintaining Data For Student Enrollment
  • Ensure websites are updated with accurate program information to support enrollment.
  • Reconcile data between multiple sources or systems to maintain enrollment accuracy.
  • Monitor and support student onboarding and enrollment processes.
Recruitment Events
  • Represent the College of Nursing at various recruiting events.
  • Manage and participate in information sessions, application academies, campus tours, and recruiting events (including nights/weekends as needed).
  • Represent the College of Nursing at external events and promote its programs.
  • Engage in public speaking and outreach to prospective students and stakeholders.
