Position Highlights:
The Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) is seeking a part-time Facilitator to support faculty teaching the online course, MIS 544 – Healthcare Analytics. The selected applicant will enhance the student experience by providing responses to student inquiries, grading assignments, holding virtual office hours, and monitoring discussion boards. Additional duties will vary by course and instructor. This is an on‑call position;
assignments are not guaranteed for every session. A facilitator may support MIS courses across all Eller Online programs. Assignments last the duration of the online course (7–15 weeks). The position is limited to a maximum of 19 hours per week; typically 10–15 hours per week. Hours vary week to week. Facilitators hired for MIS courses may be asked to support other online Eller programs if qualified.
Course facilitators must provide their own computing equipment and reliable, high‑speed internet. No special software required, but the device must support virtual conferencing, D2L LMS access, and course materials. The MIS Department ranks in the top 5 in information systems for over 30 years.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Timely reviewing and grading of assignments, providing feedback to students.
- Monitoring student participation and managing violations.
- Alerting the instructor to possible plagiarism or other academic integrity violations detected while grading.
- Entering grades into the D2L course LMS.
- Monitoring discussion boards and responding to student comments.
- Responding to student inquiries and/or using the UA's LMS (D2L).
- Holding regularly scheduled office hours in a virtual environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Communication skills (both verbal and written)

- Reliable and self‑motivated
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in MIS or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in MIS, data analytics, or healthcare informatics.
- Experience with Weka, Excel, and introductory machine learning concepts.
- Experience teaching and/or facilitating college‑level courses.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
