Tucson Waldorf School is seeking an Early Childhood Extended Day Teacher for the 2035-26 School Year

The Tucson Waldorf School, celebrating its 30th anniversary, is a thriving educational institution situated in the scenic foothills of the Catalina Mountains. With over 200 students from Nursery through 8th grade, we offer six early childhood classes, including parent-child, nursery, and kindergarten. Accredited by AWSNA and WECAN, our school prides itself on fostering a rich and diverse learning community.

• Kindergarten position: 10:30-3:45 M-F

• Assist the lead and assistant teacher in organizing classroom materials and activities.
• Maintain a warm and balanced demeanor while interacting with children aged 2.5-6.
• Embrace and implement essential indications of Waldorf pedagogy.
• Occasionally, assume the assistant teacher role in the absence of the primary instructor(s), managing all tasks and activities effectively.

• Ability to maintain a warm and balanced demeanor while working with young children.
• Openness to learning and implementing Waldorf pedagogical principles.
• Capacity to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• The capacity to be outside for long periods in all weather conditions
• Able to kneel, sit, and bend to the ground with ease throughout the day
• Experience in early childhood education is preferred

• This position is part-time and hourly.
• Benefits include partial tuition remission and paid time off
• In-Service Week August 11-15
• School begins for the Early Childhood program on August 21, 2025
