Under general supervision, develops and implements a curriculum program consistent with District educational goals and objectives.

• Observe and monitor student behavior in various settings; establish a safe and respectful classroom environment.
• Assess student needs; develop, implement, and evaluate lesson plans; modify instruction as needed.
• Organize classroom materials and space; utilize classroom management techniques to maintain order and safety.
• Use positive reinforcement to promote desired behaviors and educational outcomes.
• Plan instruction to meet specific objectives based on student needs and curriculum.
• Evaluate student work and progress; communicate with parents about assessments and student needs.
• Participate in instructional teams; collaborate with specialists; order supplies; perform other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of state and federal activity standards, developmental levels, and district policies.
• Knowledge of teaching techniques, classroom management, and curriculum development.
• Effective communication skills; ability to establish positive relationships; basic math skills.

Work is indoors; involves frequent sitting, repetitive motions, monitoring vision, and some lifting.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
• Valid Arizona Elementary 1-8 or Secondary 6-12 Teaching Certificate.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Equivalent training, education, or experience meeting minimum qualifications accepted.
