Position: CSA Engineering Analyst (Mining & Minerals) - Tucson or Denver

Our team in the US is growing. We are currently recruiting for an Jr. Structural Analysts to join our Minerals & Metals Business line in the Tucson or Denver offices. This role is responsible for coordination, and support of structural engineering packages for complex mining, mineral processing, and related infrastructure projects. In this role, you will work closely on structural design, development, modification, evaluation, be involved with constructability reviews of structural (concrete / steelwork) components and processes.

About

the Role
  • Support all structural engineering facets of mining and mineral processing initiatives, encompassing both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Development of structural designs -, calculations, specifications, and construction documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and industry standards.
  • Review and or write technically detailed specifications -, design criteria, scopes of work, and material take-off lists to facilitate project execution.
  • Analyze and interpret specialized Structural regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data to ensure adherence to current requirements.
  • Using applicable Ausenco Engineering Department Procedures, design standards, and guidelines, as well as Ausenco Standard Application Programs and Design Control Checklists. The Structural Engineer will lead the design, development, modification, and assessment of structural components and processes.
  • Review critical structural design documents, vendor supplier drawings and data, material specifications for structural integrity applicable, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries pertinent to assigned projects.
  • Create and verify complex structural engineering deliverables, including steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assess the appropriate application of various structural materials, such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete, to guarantee that the selected materials meet load and stress requirements effectively.
  • Design of structures, leveraging advanced knowledge in structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering principles
  • Coordinate and review work performed by structural engineering teams and subcontractors to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines, project management, construction teams, and clients to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, constructability reviews, and site inspections as required.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets, and support project reporting and progress tracking.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;
    Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., USA state PE) are strongly preferred.
  • Structural engineering experience, with some experience working on mining / metals or oil / gas industrial projects
  • Knowledge of applicable structural codes and standards (e.g., ASCE, AISC, API, ISO, Eurocode, etc.).
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and modeling software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP
    2000, 2D Drawing, Tekla, Revit, or equivalent).
  • Understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures, including foundations, process facilities, and equipment support.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, interface with clients, and deliver high-quality engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
