OpportunityAs the Project Manager, you manage and lead small Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)/Service projects, ensuring successful execution in performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of small EPC/service projects, including risk, cost, schedule, quality, and budget.
- Ensure day‑to‑day execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope: performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction.
- Provide for successful project staffing.
- Lead and manage small multidisciplinary teams.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and start‑up activities, including third‑party contributors.
- Drive business development: marketing, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal development and preparation, client presentations, and project budgeting and contracting.
- Maintain new business objectives and overall project performance.
- Interact with clients, represent Black & Veatch in client and community activities, and support market business planning and strategies.
- Oversee engineering managers, set project performance goals, and lead implementation.
- Involve internal teams and owners in project activities and manage budgeting, invoicing, payments, and performance reviews.
- Mentor, coach, and develop staff; recommend training and promotion and identify new candidates to expand the team.
- 15+ years of active water/wastewater experience with demonstrated leadership in the Phoenix market.
- Professional Engineering License and a bachelor’s degree (technical discipline).
- Strong financial and budget management skills.
- Contract negotiation skills, including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing, and payment terms.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor‑vehicle records, etc.).
