Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Water Treatment Project Engineer for our Arizona offices located in Tempe, Tucson, and Goodyear. This role will support project engineering and management, and the development of water and potable reuse projects throughout Arizona, the Southwest and across the country. You will be a part of the Hazen Water and Reuse practice groups engaging, collaborating, and supporting water and reuse projects, and opportunities across the country as needed.

- Your role will include project engineering/management, design, planning, operational support with a focus on water treatment/reuse and drinking water projects.
- Mentor junior drinking water staff.
- Coordination and collaboration with clients.
- Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
- Supporting projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements.
- Following internal Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery of engineering projects for clients.
- Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on small to medium projects.
- Performing planning, studies, design, and support of projects through design, construction, and operation.
- Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering.
- PE license.
- 5‑12 years of experience in municipal water treatment, water quality, water treatment technology, or manufacturing.
- Experience in successfully delivering projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficient in all MS Office based computer software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Self‑starter with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
