Primary responsibilities include:- Perform inspections and engineering assessments for dams and hydraulic structures for FERC CAs/PIs or other purposes.
- Conduct analyses, evaluations, and designs for hydropower and dam safety projects.
- Lead design efforts for new and rehabilitation projects involving dams, spillways, gates, and related structures.
- Develop contract documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and oversee project execution as a project engineer.
- Some travel is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in project management.
- Experience with dams, water conveyances, or infrastructure related to hydropower and pumped-storage projects.
- FERC Part 12 Dam Safety Program familiarity, with emphasis on CAs, PIs, and risk assessments.
- FERC Independent Consultant approval or ability to obtain within 1-2 years.
- Proficiency with finite element software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, SAP
2000) and MS Office Suite. - Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 10 years of related experience.
- At least 5 years of project management experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
