Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is growing and we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional in our Tucson, AZ office. As a Civil Engineering Principal for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll collaborate with senior management to grow the Civil/Site Practice. By developing and strengthening relationships with prospective and existing clients, you will guide the practice's growth on both a local and regional basis.
Through your experience, you will guide external stakeholders through the regulatory environment, ensuring technical excellence of projects. You'll be directly responsible for developing and reviewing proposals and project budgets, managing and mentoring a team of engineers and project managers, and performing final quality control and assurance. In your role, you will guide a team of engineers and project managers through multi‑faceted civil engineering projects and business development initiatives.
As part of the management team, you will assist with recruiting and staff development, including annual reviews and setting development goals. Concurrently, senior management will work with you to customize your individual career path through professional development, mentoring and office initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- Arizona Professional Engineering License (P.E.)
- Local connections and existing professional network with developers, architects, businesses, clients, regulatory agencies, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience preparing engineering plans for permitting and construction, working with regulatory agencies to gain approvals
- Ability to network and develop strong client relationships
- Skills in technical oversight and project management services, including quality reviews of design aspects such as site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, water quality best management practices, utilities, and supporting calculations
- Experience recruiting, mentoring, and leading a diverse professional staff with integrated client services
