Controls Engineer

The role is a senior technical leadership position focused on improving R&E efficiency for client organizations by driving synergies between base machine development and autonomous development. It requires co-location with MTES, PVS organization, and Proving Grounds.

$57.00/hr - $60.00/hr

• Work with L6-L8 teams to understand configuration variations and develop detailed strategic test plans to minimize repetition of tests on multiple machines.
• Understand current client testing/tuning activities and develop clear requirements for VPD, SIL, and HIL, aiming to reduce or eliminate client testing/tuning for in-progress and future programs.
• Lead close collaboration efforts with various teams and participate in testing at Proving Grounds.
• Drive synergies between base machine development and autonomous development to improve R&E efficiency across multiple NPI programs.

• Controls software development and/or testing experience.
• Machine/Vehicle level engineering experience in machine performance, controls, testing or simulation areas.
• Familiarity with mining truck operation and applications.

• Experience with machine controls, software, testing and simulation methods.
• Knowledge of large mining trucks and off‑highway trucks at the machine or system integration level.
• Expertise in machine performance, controls, and software development.
• Understanding of truck applications and autonomous operations.

• Excellent project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Pro‑active problem‑solving ability.

• Minimum 5–7 years in a senior engineering, test, performance, or controls role.
• Previous experience is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or related field.

The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is $57.00–$60.00 per hour. Non‑exempt positions are eligible for overtime at 1.5× the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law.
