Overview

The Flight Avionics Team provides Electrical Systems Engineering to develop Flight Avionics solutions and missile flight avionics hardware. Core responsibilities include architecture, analysis, requirements, integration, and test across RF/RADAR, Navigation/IMU/GPS, Digital, and Power segments. The Electrical Subsystems Lead manages a cross-functional team, provides technical guidance and supervision, and may lead supplier and proposal efforts. This role requires IPTL experience and the ability to lead through multiple phases of hardware systems development.

What

You Will Do
  • Work environment is primarily in an office, but may include labs, field work, or a combination.
  • Guide a team through several phases of hardware systems lifecycle such as designs and analysis; architect new electronic systems; develop and document subsystem requirements and test plans; conduct peer reviews as a subject matter expert; present to peers, management, and government customers; and lead root-cause failure investigations.
  • Mentor and be mentored within a Missile Systems culture that emphasizes growth.
  • Support multiple programs and travel as needed, including potential foreign travel.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplined team and with functional and program management.
  • Engage with customers and suppliers as part of program execution.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant flight avionics experience in electrical hardware development, sub-systems, systems engineering, requirements development, and/or validation.
  • Advanced degree may substitute for experience:
    Master’s equals 2 years;
    Ph.D. equals 4 years.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with missile guidance electronics subsystems, including antennas, RF circuits, digital cards, and configurable logic; ability to design and troubleshoot these components; project leadership and systems engineering experience; and a desire to grow into a higher role.
  • Missile or similar system experience; familiarity with Earn Value Management System (EVMS) and Cost Account Management (CAM).
  • Knowledge of mixed-signal electronics; ability to manage cross-functional teams; supplier management skills; knowledge of DoD hardware development processes; and experience across all phases of product development lifecycle.
  • Experience developing proposals; knowledge and/or experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
