Temporary - Estimated Duration: 20 Months
- Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Pay Rate: $45 per hour on W2
- Collaborate with the LMT Controls Lead, Program Technical Lead, Software Coordinator, and other controls engineers to define requirements for machine-level controls and software features.
- Review existing production machine control logic and software specifications to identify required changes for new machines, documenting updates in formal requirement specifications.
- Conduct meetings with key technical stakeholders to review control specifications and achieve alignment.
- Drive commonality across hardware and software platforms, documenting trade-offs and benefits across machine variants.
- Perform SIL, HIL, and MIL simulations as required to tune, validate, and verify control logic.
- Develop comprehensive system-level and machine-level validation plans (SIL, HIL, On-Machine, etc.) to ensure defect‑free performance across all operating and environmental conditions.
- Investigate and document technology roadmaps and future attachment options to ensure required provisions are incorporated into controls and software scope.
- Support field follow validation of new control logic through structured data analytics plans.
- Provide timely support to resolve field issues by working closely with subsystem- and component-level controls and software teams.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills- Minimum 5-7 years of experience working in a Controls Engineer capacity.
- Hands‑on experience in controls software development and/or testing.
- Machine‑ or vehicle‑level engineering experience, preferably in machine performance, controls, testing, or simulation (one or more areas).
- Familiarity with Mining Truck operations and related applications.
- Experience with machine controls, control software, testing, and simulation methodologies.
- Knowledge of large mining trucks and off‑highway trucks, preferably at the machine or system‑integration level.
- Strong understanding of machine performance, control systems, and software development.
- Working knowledge or exposure to the Dynasty tool.
- General understanding of truck applications.
- Exposure to or understanding of autonomous operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, solution‑oriented problem solver.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
