The Air Launched Effectors All Up Round (ALE AUR) Mechanical Design organization is seeking a highly experienced Electro‑Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will provide technical expertise and leadership in developing high‑performance opto‑mechanical and electro‑mechanical hardware for state‑of‑the‑art defense products. This position bridges advanced engineering with program management, requiring you to drive detailed component and system‑level designs while balancing Statement of Work (SOW) deliverables, budgets, and schedules.

What You Will Do:

• Technical Leadership & Oversight:
Lead an engineering team focused on opto‑mechanical and electro‑mechanical design.
• Oversee critical technical efforts including drafting, structural/thermal analysis, EM simulations, IR drop calculations, and Power/Signal Integrity (PI/SI) analysis.
• Program Management & Cross‑Functional Alignment:
Serve as the primary liaison between the Program Office, Chief Engineer’s Office, and external suppliers.
• Track schedule milestones, optimize resource allocation, and collaborate across optical, systems, electrical, and manufacturing teams to ensure top‑tier design and build quality.
• Ensure obsolescence is effectively managed by identifying and qualifying replacement parts to support rate production.
• Supply Chain & Manufacturing Support:
Partner with procurement, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to maintain stable production pipelines.
• Support supplier onboarding and scaling activities, and manage priorities for a production program.
• Requirements & Compliance Engineering:
Ensure strict adherence to requirements and engineering principles.
• Prepare and present technical data packages to Engineering Review Boards (ERB), Material Review Boards (MRB), and Change Boards, aligning Engineering and Operations on implementation and maintenance of engineering changes.
• R&D & Prototyping:
Lead proof‑of‑concept designs for integrating new technologies and contribute to Internal Research and Development (IRAD) initiatives.
• Testing & Hardware Validation:
Develop and execute comprehensive environmental qualification test plans (shock, vibration, thermal cycling, EMI/EMC).
• Lead root‑cause investigations and implement verified corrective actions for hardware anomalies.
• Flexibility:
Ability to work extended hours and travel as needed to meet program requirements.
• Travel:
Up to 25% travel required for supplier management and site visits.
• Additional:
Perform duties assigned by the Office of Chief Engineering (OCE) and the IPT Lead.
• Must be capable of rapidly troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
