Loss Mitigation Representative

Job Summary:
In this role, you will assist members, staff, and third parties with general aspects of loss mitigation and repossession accounts for the credit union. Assign vehicles to third-party agencies for repossession. Process required notifications upon repossession and sale of collateral. Timely follow-up on accounts assigned for repossession to improve results with agency. Work with third-party auctions to facilitate the liquidation of collateral.

Process incoming sales proceeds and associated refunds and fee invoicing. Accurately document all activity in applicable computer systems and platforms.

Salary: $20.00-$26.00 Per Hour Depending on Experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Assign accounts to third-party repossession agencies and coordinate collateral recovery.
• Review loan documents, credit reports, and account history to support skip tracing and resolution.
• Communicate with members to discuss account status and resolution options.
• Create and send required notices including Notices of Intent and balance notifications
• Process sales proceeds, refunds, redemption and insurance claims accurately.
• Track account activity and document all actions in the collections system.
• Partner with third party vendors and internal teams to resolve collection issues.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations, including FDCPA.

Qualifications:
Required Skills:

• Minimum of six months of similar or related experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent Customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred

Skills:

• Basic understanding of bankruptcies, repossessions, legal actions, foreclosures, loan extension/modifications, and collateral protection
