The Financial Planning Associate I (FPA I) is part of a pod structure that supports a team of Wealth Advisors. Working under the direction of the FPA II, this role focuses on foundational planning responsibilities that contribute to the overall efficiency and quality of the planning process. The FPA I is actively developing technical skills, building proficiency in planning systems, and gaining a deep understanding of TCI’s processes.
With guidance from the pod and mentorship from Team TCI, the FPA I supports client planning workflows, prepares planning materials, and lays the groundwork for future client-facing responsibilities.

Requirements SCOPE & EXPECTATIONSThe FPA I can expect to focus in the following areas reflective of TCI’s client standard of care:
- Investment management
- Financial education for clients and their families
- Insurance planning/risk management
- Estate planning
- Tax planning and analysis
- Cash flow management
The FPA I will support advisory teams with key elements of the financial planning process including:
- Analyzing financial data from current and prospective clients, including assets, liabilities, insurance policies, estate plans, and tax returns
- Reviewing current portfolio allocations and comparing them to target investment strategies
- Evaluating external account investment options and supporting implementation of client-specific recommendations
- Creating net worth statements and developing cash flow analyses
- Utilizing financial planning software to build and maintain client and prospect plans
- Summarizing key insurance coverage details, including life, disability, and long-term care
- Conducting research on financial planning topics and collaborating with internal teams or external experts as needed
- Documenting key planning data and maintaining accurate workflows in CRM systems
- Identifying planning opportunities through analysis and presenting insights to Advisors

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES- Bachelors Degree required
- Series 65 license required or must be obtained within one year of hire as a condition of continued employment
- Minimum of 2 years of prior experience providing superior client service, preferably within a financial services environment or similar professional setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience utilizing financial planning software (EMoney, Holisti Plan, etc.) and client management software (Salesforce, Tamarac, etc.) preferred

- Attention to Detail - Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks. Produces quality work in an accurate and timely manner
