Position:
Healthcare Simulation Educator II / Medical Education Professional II

Position Highlights

The role supports the Standardized Patient (SP) Program at the University of Arizona Health Sciences, collaborating with educators, faculty, and staff across Medicine, Nursing, and other health science colleges.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Train and coach SPs to accurately portray clinical cases and abnormal physical exam findings.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop, review, and maintain SP case training materials, including genetics, nutrition, and various clerkship exams.
  • Lead and coordinate clerkship examinations and OSCEs, managing scheduling, set‑up, and supervision of SPs.
  • Assist with scenario development and creation of training materials for SP education.
  • Maintain relationships with assigned UAHS colleges, overseeing event planning, SP assignments, and curriculum activities.
  • Provide SPs with verbal and written feedback to learners and assess quality of feedback.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organization: manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional-level experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or equivalent advanced experience.
  • At least one year experience working with Standardized Patients in a health professions setting.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $53,039 – $66,299 per year. Full‑time position, 40 hours per week (FTE 1.0). Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, tuition reduction, and retirement plans.
