We are currently looking for an Automation Engineer for a Hybrid position supporting a large federal government program. This role will design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks, tools, and pipelines to improve software quality, accelerate releases, and ensure system reliability. The position involves close collaboration with development teams, QA analysts, and government stakeholders to deliver high-quality, compliant, and secure solutions within a complex federal environment.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks, scripts, and reusable components for web, API, and backend systems.
- Develop automation strategies that align with project goals and support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Translate functional and technical requirements into automated validation steps and acceptance criteria.
- Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and track defects through resolution.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using modern Dev Ops tools and practices.
- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and business analysts to ensure test coverage, identify risks, and troubleshoot system issues.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
- Support performance, regression, and integration testing across multiple environments.
- Provide documentation for test plans, automation processes, results, and recommendations.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in test automation, software testing, or quality engineering.
- Hands‑on experience developing automation using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
- Experience building and maintaining automated test suites for CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, or comparable automation tooling.
- Experience with SQL and testing data‑driven applications.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Dev Sec Ops practices, and modern software engineering principles.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast‐paced environments with competing priorities.
- Experience working with federal IT programs or healthcare systems (preferred).
- Experience with performance testing or load‑testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Load Runner).
- Familiarity with AWS, Lambda automation, or cloud‑based testing technologies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
