JOB ANNOUNCEMENT MANAGING ATTORNEY – FORT APACHE, ARIZONA DESCRIPTION
Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Inc. is hiring a Managing Attorney to work in its Fort Apache office. The Fort Apache office is located on the White Mountain Apache Reservation. The office serves members of the Apache Tribe in Tribal Court (located in Northeastern Arizona in the scenic White Mountain area). The community is located near resorts and recreational areas, with outstanding skiing, fishing and hunting.
Staff consists of one staff attorney, two tribal court advocates and support staff. The Managing Attorney will be required to undertake representation in a variety of criminal and civil cases in tribal court. The Managing Attorney will also be required to supervise day to day operations of the office. Some travel to other communities including on the Apache reservation is required.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to speak Apache is helpful.
Salary range $58,656 - $101,915 DOE plus Management Premium of $10,000; up to 5% additional compensation available to individuals fluent in Spanish. SALA provides financial assistance to attorneys responsible for law school loans. SALA has an excellent benefits package including health insurance, pension plan and generous leave provisions. SALA will pay up to $3,000 to support relocation to Arizona.
