Hourly - Production/Factory Full-Time Trainee Tucson, AZ, US

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Inspector / Manufacturing Technician with a passion for quality, problem-solving, and hands-on manufacturing! This hybrid role involves inspecting, testing, and ensuring product compliance with precise GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) requirements, while also assembling lift assemblies and subassemblies to print specifications. You’ll utilize various inspection techniques, read and interpret drawings, verify certifications, conduct tests, maintain accurate records, and support the assembly of lift products.

About You

You’re a mechanically inclined problem-solver who enjoys working with your hands while maintaining high quality standards. You have strong attention to detail, good computer skills, and the ability to quickly learn different customer submission portals such as Exostar, P2P, and Net-Inspect. You’re comfortable reading drawings and specifications, working with tools and production equipment, and learning new inspection and assembly processes. Key Responsibilities
  • Reads and interprets standard drawings, specifications, assembly prints, and material requisitions for inspection and assembly of parts, equipment, fixtures, and lift products.
  • Verifies certification of processes and materials on incoming products as required. Consults with Senior Inspectors and/or Quality Systems Manager on acceptance standards and conveyance of quality issues.
  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in the production process and tests products for qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Records test data and inspection records and meets with Source Inspectors as required. Evaluates data and writes reports to accept or reject parts in accordance with Company procedures and customer requirements.
  • Identifies, reports, or corrects problems with equipment, materials, products, or procedures and recommends modifications of existing procedures to achieve optimum quality within limits of Company capability.
  • Reads drawings and material lists to assemble lift assemblies and subassemblies to print specifications.
  • Installs gates, windows, motors, switches, handles, and other components required to complete lift assemblies.
  • Operates hand tools, power tools, machines, and other equipment used in the production and assembly of lifts.
  • Completes paperwork and documentation quickly and accurately with minimal direction from Supervisor or Senior Inspector(s).
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area and reports or corrects unsafe conditions.
  • Very good computer skills are required.
  • Ensures that all QMS (Quality Management Systems) procedures are followed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Previous experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, machining, or a related environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and knowledge of quality assurance procedures preferred.
  • Experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, assembly prints, and technical documents.
  • Effective English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting documents, and writing reports.
  • Mathematical aptitude for calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
