OverviewSurg Center of Tucson is hiring a PREOP/PACU Registered Nurse. The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, continually evaluating the patient's condition and ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy. The role may assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and sterile techniques as appropriate. The RN will provide comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patient and family preparation for discharge.
ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Perform ongoing assessment, evaluate patient progress, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and sterile technique as required. Educate patients and families about recovery, discharge planning, and post‑operative care. Maintain patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
Monitor for complications and respond promptly as necessary.
- Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
- Active RN license in the state.
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
- Minimum 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
- Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage.
