Registered Nurse – Cath Lab (Full Time)

About the Role

Full‑time schedule Monday‑Friday with required call in the Cath Lab. $20,000 sign‑on bonus offered to qualified eligible RNs who commit to 2 years. The Cath Lab team works with high‑risk, high‑acuity patients and provides opportunities for learning and skill expansion.

What You'll Do
  • Perform cardiac catheterizations, PCI procedures, and other high‑risk cath lab interventions (Impella, IABP, CTO, lithotripsy, rotational atherectomy, laser).
  • Manage emergent STEMI patients as a receiving center and Chest Pain Accredited Program.
  • Conduct pre‑procedure assessments, prepare patients, and manage IV lines and medication administration.
  • Assist the cardiologist during procedures, monitor vital signs and hemodynamics, and respond to complications and emergencies.
  • Provide post‑procedure care, monitor recovery, and administer necessary medications.
  • Participate in code team activities, CPR, and other medical emergencies as required.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient education in the medical record.

Job Summary

The RN provides patient‑centered care through the nursing process, coordinating and delivering high‑quality care based on established clinical protocols and physician orders. The RN collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate and deliver patient‑centered care according to policies, protocols, and the nursing process.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor for side effects, and document administration.
  • Assist physicians during procedures within scope of documented competency.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, including CPR and code team activities.
  • Advocate for patients' rights and needs, ensuring their voices are heard in care planning.
  • Provide education to patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post‑discharge care.
  • Implement infection control protocols and monitor medical equipment for safety.
  • Promote patient safety, adhere to national safety goals, and maintain a clean environment.
  • Participate in audits, chart reviews, and compliance checks.
  • Engage in professional development to maintain clinical competency.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 0–2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices.
  • Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficiency in administering medications and monitoring for side effects.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.
Licenses & Certifications
  • RN – Registered Nurse – State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required.
  • BCLS – Basic Life Support required.
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
