Obstetrics and Gynecology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (OBGYN NP/OBGYN PA) to join our team of medical professionals at the Pima County Detention Center located in Tucson, Arizona
.

As a Correctional OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA), you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide comprehensive healthcare to women, focusing on reproductive health, pregnancy, and childbirth for patients in residence. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to a diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.

• Providing gynecological services including well‑woman care, annual Pap smears and pelvic exams, health education, STD screening and follow‑up, contraceptive counseling, prenatal care, and postpartum care.
• Diagnosing and treating conditions such as infections, menstrual problems, and menopause‑related issues.
• Prescribing medications and therapies.
• Collaborating with healthcare teams.
• Offering patient counseling and support.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient encounters.
• Formulating a working diagnosis and developing and implementing treatment plans.
• Evaluating patients who return from off‑site treatment.
• Conducting rounds.
• Scheduling and performing laboratory and diagnostic procedures.

• Must hold a current unrestricted license as an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Arizona.
• Current DEA registration.
• An appropriate collaborative agreement with the on‑site Physician.
• Valid CPR card.
• Certification in a board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
• Strong written communication and verbal skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Integrity, professionalism, and ability to adhere to a code of conduct and comply with all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
