Responsibilities
Palo Verde Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced Manager of Nursing (Mgr, Nursing). The Mgr, Nursing is responsible for the clinical practice of nursing within assigned units, including directing all services provided by the Nursing Services Department, including nurses and behavioral health techs. The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives.
This position assists in contributing to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational and Performance & Improvement efforts, while providing supervision to the nursing staff assigned to his/her unit and assisting the DCS in program development.

- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required, or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of (3) years’ experience in Nursing Administration and/or dedicated Leadership role in Psychiatric Nursing is preferred.
- Must be currently licensed to practice in AZ by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
- Thorough knowledge of JCAHO, CMS, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements. CPR certification upon hire, and successful completion of training in Handle with Care within 30 days of employment.
